Next Step Design Transforms the Capital Hotel’s Signature Restaurant & Bar

WineEmotion USA and Rinaldini Distribution, Inc. are proud to work directly with the innovative Hospitality Design Firm, Next Step Design for their customers’ wine dispensing needs. The following is a release from the design firm detailing the Capital Hotel’s (Little Rock, AR) premiers restaurant and bar, One Eleven.


Next Step Design partnered with the historic Capital Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas to renovate their signature restaurant and bar, One Eleven at the Capital, formerly known as Ashley’s at the Capital. The result is a new space that is instantly more inviting, and inherently re-energizes and activates the entire hotel.

The evolution starts with the lobby bar – Michael Chaffin, the hotel’s chief operating officer, notes that “The lobby was previously a place that you passed through to get from one place to another; with the new bar it is a place you want to stay while, you want to hang out, and that totally transforms the area.

Next Step Design’s project manager, Stuart Davis, designed the bar to flawlessly transition from morning service, offering pastry and coffee, to an ultra-sophisticated evening service. The 16-seat bar, clad in a seamless piece of zinc, features a WineEmotion™ dispenser, specified by Davis, to allow the hotel to offer expensive wines by the glass and preserve them for weeks after opening.

The kitchen – led by Michelin star, James Beard award-winning Chef Joel Antunes – was also updated to serve customers more efficiently. Chaffin trusted in Stuart’s ability to help facilitate the hotel’s overall goal of making the restaurant more accessible, “I learned early on that you could really trust Stuart. There wasn’t a lot of salesman stuff going on, it was real information. I really feel that Stuart and Next Step are looking out for us in every way, actually.”
